i just talked to MOTU and they said it should work with 3GB but they have a beta driver that does work with 4GB if i have trouble. :)

3GB RAM, Vista 64 and ultralite is that working?

I just ordered more RAM and it will be here Wednesday. i currently have 4 sticks of 512 i am replacing two of them with 1GB sticks so i will have 3GB.

i heard you cant use 4GB in Vista 64 with the Ultralite.

sounds like your firewire device is not compatible. i had a TI chipset on an adaptec card that was still not compatible.

i am using a SIIG PCIE firewire card. works fine here on vista 64.
i did have a few issues changing between apps with cuemix open but updating the firmware to 1.1.5 fixed that.

i had similar problems with 1.0 but updating to 1.1.5 firmware cured them.
output meters would go crazy with crackles when i switched between apps with cuemix open. but after updating the firmware a few weeks ago the problem is gone.

ok i got the crackles fixed on my system. i was the firmware. i was using version 1.00 now im using 1.15 and when i switch between apps everthing works fine now.

I have had that problem with my Ultralite when switching from a game to another app under XP pro, XP64, Vista 64. i think its the drivers.

a TI chipset isn't guaranteed to work i know that the Adaptec firewire card i tried had the TI chipset and did not work. for PCIe use the card i have and for PCI use a belkin F5U501 or F5U503

my ultralite has been up and running on a daily basis for about 7 months on my system. i did run into the fire-wire incompatibility issue twice but found the right card twice as well. a PCI card and when i upgraded to PCIE again.

well in that regard i second mothra as well i have no problems here with my drivers. just the LACK of vista drivers.

wrong RTM was a while ago DEC 2nd was the Release to business.
i in fact own a business and bought my upgrade already. January 17th will be the general retail release.
