I Moreover, Apogee and Waves or Apple wouldn't bother with such PR if there weren't some sort of very real and mutual profitability to be had by doing so. What this says to me is Apple gets to use Eddie Kramer to promote Logic and Waves probably gets to use some of Apple's money to promote its prod...

Is this the best post production tool or what?!
New feature that I just discovered in DP6 is the ability to have a Quicktime movie that's not DV encoded be encoded on the fly and sent out the firewire port. Here we edit in Apple ProRes codec and when I do the final audio mix we need to convert that to DV so I can use it in DP and output to a larg...

MOTU should be doing everything they can to encourage, excite, support and satisfy their customers. Customers are their lifeblood. They do, by developing products like DP6. I make a living posting TV shows using DP. I've stayed on 5.1 because it was stable for me compared to 5.13. Well DP6 had a fe...

I just bounced a 1 hour TV show to disk, in fact I've done two different versons and no problems. I also mastered a 14 song CD and burned to CD and that went well too. I had a problem like that in 5.13 and it seemed to be more connected to Core Audio. I would have problems with all core audio format...

What I like about DP6
I just installed DP 6 on my secondary work computer a G5 2.7 and while some things like the colors, bug me, there are a couple of really cool improvemnts for me. 1. Fades don't mute audio when your playing and DP is rendering fade. It just renders and if your in the middle of playing the fade and th...

I just finished doing a 5.1 remix and stereo downmix for a film that was released by History Channel Films. Funny they started in Pro Tools and got an omf from Final cut that contained the stems, new elements and VO and when we did the remix the producer was amazed at how fast we were working. He ha...

I have been mixing a sixteen track project in Logic Express 8. I'm using a lot of guitar amp pro plugins and the usual eq, comp, and reverbs with the low latency setting. During the mix I decided to add some keyboard tracks, a b4 and a sampler track and I haven't once had to think about dealing with...

How do they do that?
First let me say that I'm a long time DP user, I mix two TV series and a lot of music with it. For the last couple of years I've used Logic express to write music with. Tracks were usually exported and mixed in DP. Yesterday I got Logic Express 8 and thought I'd share my experience. First and most i...
