computer advice
Looking to upgrade from my dual 1.8GHz G5 machine. I'm interested in people's impressions on the difference between the stock entry level 8-core (8 processors, 2.26 GHz w/6GB RAM) and the stock top of the line Quad Core (4 processors, 2.93 GHz w/6GB RAM). They run about the same price at MacMall. I'...

Re: DP 6.02 is up
NI says on its website that Native Instruments VI's don't work with Leo on a PPC under DP6. Tiger works great for me. As often preached here at the Nation by yours truly, I love Leo for anything, except audio. It runs on a separate partition on my Quad G5 boot disc. One advantage: Since I keep the ...

Addictive Drums/DP6.01
This isn't a bug issue (I don't think), more of a "please help me get rid of this annoying aspect of my recording" request. I'm working on a new mix, got it sounding really nice with all the audio (vox, bass, guitar) pretty tight, but I have a small problem with my VI. I'm using Addictive ...

New DP user
Howdy everyone... just introducing myself. I'm a new DP6 user. Today I got my serial number and registered my competitive upgrade. I got this comment from MOTU customer service with my serial number: "Once you have linked your username with your registration, you will have access to downloadabl...

Re: POD X3 Pro - Line 6 Finally Gives Us What We Want?
Howdy everyone... brand new to DP, I just picked up DP6 a few weeks ago but haven't really had the chance to figure out how to use it yet. Thought I'd weigh in on this though... so, getting back to the original post The X3 Pro seems like a pretty cool gizmo, it's got all the perks that the previous ...

thanks
Hey everyone, thanks for the help so far. I'm not very interested in the MIDI side of things, as most of what I record is guitar, bass, and vocals. The drummer has his own setup to use to get the percussion into the computer. What I'm most concerned about is getting a Firewire interface to eliminate...

Pro Tools user contemplating switch to DP
Anyone have any advice on how to make the switch to DP? Will the PreSonus Firebox or the Mackie Onyx 400F play nicely with DP? I'm currently using ProTools with a first generation MBox. I'm really peeved that the next piece of firewire hardware that digidesign makes is the Digi002R and it costs $120...
