Re: Scarbee Rickenbacker Bass

I'm sure the VI is nice (although as a bass player I can't bring myself to buy a virtual bass...) but sheesh, that demo track is hi-de-ously fake sounding. Well I do hear you on that Kubi, but as a guitarist and not a bassist I think I'm slightly immune to what bass players can and can't do. Howeve...

Re: Scarbee Rickenbacker Bass

I'm a Komplete user as well and have been "burned" like that in the past. I couldn't wait even tho NAMM is coming and something from NI may be introduced. I'm actually using the Ric in a track as we speak. R

Scarbee Rickenbacker Bass

I've been looking for a nice Rick Bass VI for a long time. Yesterday I received an email and it didn't take me long to figure out I needed this. Personally I'm very impressed with NI's basses and this one really captures the tone of a Rick and all the personality. Rainman

Re: Scuffham Amps - maybe the best guitar amp sim ever

I've been playing with the Scuffham amp for a couple of days now. To my ear they've really captured the essence of the natural tube compression, it's a very analogue sound. The string blend when strumming really knocks me out, very tubey. I already use Guitar Rig and Amplitube 3, each has it's stren...

Re: Snow Leopard to Lion Issues

Your test might be a bit unfair as you have upped your computer so much from the previous that it must seem very much faster, even if Lion might be eating up processor. I wonder how much the operating system is eating some of your good power bro? I get the feeling the Lion eats the lions share of p...

Re: Snow Leopard to Lion Issues

I'm working fine on Lion, can't say I like it though, too many little things that irk me like opening windows on re-start unless you cancel it before shutting down. Same with Safari, re-opens your last browser window unless you quit the screen first and then quit Saf. Small things but irritating one...

Re: Does the PreSonus StudioLive 16.4.2 play nice with DP7?

Hi Rainman, I hope you're having a good day. I'm planning to record some vocals with the presonus and I just wanted to prepare for it a bit. So I have 3 questions. Is there anything that needs to be installed aside from the driver? No, if you have the "Universal Control" installed you shou...

FYI

I visit a website called "Mac Music" every now and again. Today I saw they had rated the top five software programs (in their opinion) from the recent NAMM show and can you guess what was sitting at # 1?

Thanks James, it's almost like being there. Gotta admit, it got me stoked and like Zed I'm looking forward to those pedals (and the themes).

Re: NAMM - DP8? Who's Going?

It'll be a cold day in hell before I switch to Windows, Windows was a turd on a shingle, masquerading as the main dish. Yay for 64 bit! Shooshie My sentiments exactly Shooshie, I'm a Mac User, always have been, always will be. Although this thread is about DP-8 there's a lot of discussion about the...

Re: DP8 announced: 64 bits and available for Windows!

Aaah, Frodo, I've come to rely on you for some sober insight into all that is mystical. I really think we're in for a major paradigm shift if you don't mind me using that 80's phrase. Wow, TB just got a nice start at CES and now we're seeing the audio iterations at NAMM. This is one show I'd love to...

Sorry Frodo, I missed the "just kidding" and the "smilies" man, I AM getting old. I don't even know how to put those smilies in there, I've dreaded the day I'd have to admit that!

Re: DP8 announced: 64 bits and available for Windows!

I think everyone needs to breathe deep and calm down a bit. We're at a turning point here where (if you haven't noticed yet) the iPad has become the primary element of human interaction with whatever art there is in the world we know it. DP moving to windows doesn't surprise me one bit, it's probabl...
