project file crashes after loading with missing files
a - I did not start a new project folder for each song file -- there where many songs in one project folder ( I know better now) b- I flushed unused soundfiles while in one song file - deleting them from all songfiles in the project folder at the same time c- when I go to re-open some of the songfil...

Is anyone else noticing that apple's au matrix verb will only work smoothly if you use one instance at a time? I am routing to a Vrack and can use it on more than one track at once - but only one verb with one preset at a time. I do not believe this was a problem on my G5 imac with DP4.6. I get a we...

Just to weigh in - I've had mine about 5 or 6 mo.s and have been enjoying it with no major problems. Volume outpur control has always been less than perfect however. On the G5 imac it would make noise as you turned it up or down. Now with a macbook pro dual core 2 pentium and the current driver I do...

this site is Motu tech support
I have to agree with mlc. This site is tech support for me. James of course, Shooshie, Frodo - its thanks to you guys and others on this board that I have someplace to go with quesitons and issues. email response from motu - a black hole, phone - very iffy if you can get through. Call presonus or m-...

Noam I still have a lot to discover about the project mix....... I'm with you on that too - and there is no fat manual to dig through. I'm still using the basic controls and bringing up pan and meter on the display. Haven't even tried to control effects. Shoosie - The scribble strips do w...

Shooshie , Thanks so much for taking the time to write your post. It does give me a beter conceptual understanding of the event vs. time range selection. I will read the tips sticky and print out the comands. My original DAW was Deck, the precursor interface to PT. Not nearly as deep as DP. You coul...

you don't even have to be accurate. I drag cross hairs just a little bit and use the move selection start to prev/ selection end to next event..... this will enable very accurate and quick selections.... I then use the key for move insertion to counter......... this may or may not involve the snap ...

I am still in 4.6 but the crosshair and snip are working! I figured this was right under my nose. Thank you. Now I just have to remember that selecting a soundbite by clicking on it, and selecting it with the crosshair are different when it comes to the underlying automation. The snip edit is grayed...

embarrasing editing 101 questions
I am embarassed to say I haven't figured these things out yet, despite referring to the manual and the help program. 1) how do you get automation to "stick with" their assosiated soundbites? I have played with the automation set up and view filter windows but still can't get this to happen...

Thanks all for the feedback (ugh-couldn't resist) on this topic. I was away from a computer, believe it or not, for the last week, hence the delayed response. O.K. I got it. A condensor is not a magic bullet and will likely worsen the problem. I do have 58's and 57's around. I will go back to them a...

It certainly sounds like they screwed the pooch on that unit or on the mac criver for it. - I've never used it but take your word ( and the others you've heard from) for it. Just found that what I have used - the delta 1010 and now the Projectmix ( though it may still have a routing issue) has been ...

M-Audio Mac drivers are horrible . ---Jeff[/u] That's a broad assumption you're making based on experience with one piece of equipment. (unless you've had problems with others you haven't mentioned) I had an m-audio delta 1010 running on a G4 through about 3 different OS's and it was flawless the w...

wizoo review in tape op
The July-Aug. Tape-Op #54 has a review of wizoo by Andy Hong I haven't gotten mine yet so I'm not advocating - just a few quotes FYI: "If I had to pick one desert island reverb, this would be it. " "If I had to generalize on the "sound" of WizooVerb, it's incredibly lush whi...
