cpu upgrade dual or single

i'm using dp 4.5 and i am looking to get my mac466mhz g4 tower up to speed with a cpu upgrade and some other things.

does dp utilize a dual processor in any way or would a single be just a effective?

reason 2.5 and d.p. 4.52

i'm trying to get reason 2.5 to be a slave to d.p. 4.52.
everything seems to be connected (as in the transport, the loop function and the tempo settings) but i'm not getting any sound.
no problem getting sound when reason isn't slaved.

can i make this work? :?

sluggish

i am using D.P. 4.52 (OSX 10.3.9) on a PowerMac G4 with a 466 MHz PowerPC processor and 384 MB SDRAM and it's pretty sluggish. i've tried some optimization things but the improvement is marginal at best. i'm afraid i don't know very much about how these work so would someone be so kind as to suggest...

or check "ignore ownership"

checking' ignore ownership' seems to have done the trick. the pull down menu now says read and write where before it was greyed out. i confess i don't know what it means but i suppose that's a query for a different forum. thank you blue, for taking time out of your day to help me out. much appreciat...

thanks for this,

the takefiles are safely tucked away in the audio files folder as you suggest. the permissions are set to read/write.

there should be plenty of space on the disc i'm using to store stuff. 9.8 GB to be exact.

could it be a problem with the disc?

"an unexpected error occured with one of the record enable takefiles."

"the takefiles have been disabled for recording."
