DP 5 and SL?

I am migrating slowly to Snow Leopard on my Mac Pro - 16GB RAM, Lots 'O HD space, etc.
I upgraded Finale, and other apps.
I own DP 5 - will it work in SL?
I recently got a deal on Logic Express and installed it the other day for a look see.
So I have that if DP5 is a no go.

Thanks,

cm

Yes!

That works - I was not thinking it all through.
That seems to happen more and more . . . let's see what were we talking about again?

Thanks so much! :D

Thanks, but it did not work. I created a new DP file and set up channel 3 to the 828 main outs and it worked great. Quit DP, went back to Finale and no sound from the P70. The 828 did not "remember". I did find out how to play on my 88es and not input notes into my Finale score. I just sel...

Right now I am in the composing process - not rendering - so I am not working with my DP 5 - only in Finale.

Been thinking about that

I had been thinking about a small mixer anyway - a small Mackie would probably do it for me. I still would think I could route in from the P70 headphone jack and hear it. What would the difference be in routing through a mixer? It still would be a line in and right now I have no audible output even ...

Hmm

Hmm . . . well I started up Cuemix, but I do not get a window where I can change any volumes.
This is the old original 828, I am not sure I can do that, unless of course I am being stupid again.

Need routing help with MOTU 828

I have an original 828 - works great. I am sending out all sound from my MacPro via the FW cable. From the 828 I am sending out from the 828 main outs to an Alesis RA-100 to my Alesis Monitor Ones - all is well. No problem - system sounds, iTunes, Garageband, Finale 2008, DP all work. Here is the pr...

Live, as in MIDI input via a controller

That would be nice, but not in my budget for this fellowship project.
Yes, I will play what I am comfortable playing into DP via EWQL Platinum SO.
And some parts will be via MIDI files constructed in Finale and then massaged once into DP.

Thanks!

Thanks so much Michael!

I know you are a busy professional and it is so nice to get help from those who know.

I learn as I go and try not to be too much of a nuisance in the forums here and at Finale and EWQL.

Finally getting down to work on a major piece - last request

I have been sketching out a 3 - 5 movement work and now I am ready to actually creating it. I want to play live as much of it as possible - though some string sections runs will be a trick to do. So some will be live and some will be played via MIDI files. I have Finale 2008 and final rendering will...

72 hour live sale at Garritan

http://garritan.com/goround.html They are selling libraries at a nice discount. I just bought the Stradivari Violin for $125 - list price is $199. They list an item and price and then a progress bar to show how many are left - no numbers - just half gone - almost sold out, etc. When an item is sold ...

FaderPort vs Alphatrack - which is best for DP?

I read all the previous discusssions. I may be able to buy the Mackie Control Universal but I am still looking at these single faders. The AlphaTrack looks best to me. Getting ready to work on 2 major projects - a symphony/soundtrack and a major musical. Current feelings and experiences? Thanks! Cha...

I finally opened the Platinum box but I am not installing it on this old G4. I read a little in the operation manual and now I am nervous. I am wondering if I should have bought just the Gold Bundle. It says something about running it on multiple Macs! I cannot do that. I am writing the symphony thi...

On my ancient G4 450 DP I am running a Dell 19" 1907 FP and a Dell 22" widescreen E228 WFP via two video cards via VGA. I love them - I bought a monitor riser (black metal - very nice) from Staples and it makes both of them sit very nearly the same height. When I get my MacPro this spring ...
