Re: Anyone tried DP6 DAE with Leopard PT7.4.2 or PT8?

Is the amount of DAE users so small by now that no one has tried DP6 in DAE mode in Leopard?
If there are that few users, then the vicious cycle of declining support vs declining user base continues apace, alas.

Re: EW Symphonic Choirs PLAY

A lot of posters at gearslutz are rather agravated at PLAY 2 because they feel PLAY 1 doesn't work reliably yet, so why the $250 upgrade? But it appears it is more an auxilliary module which adds basically some editing features rather than a traditional upgrade. Well, maybe sort of like Audiodesk to...

Re: Automatic takes

Automatic generation of new takes isn't available on MIDI tracks unfortunately. But it's great it's on audio tracks at least. Further, if it has use to anyone else, there is a trick by where where one can use command bindings to result in automatic advance of takes for playback. Real helpful if ther...

Re: Euphonix DP Update

So it sounds like some problems can be resolved. If you would be so kind, have you notice if in DP the Euphonix unit is displaying more than the 6 character limit the Mackie Control has? Also, does the channel lock feature work as expected in DP, i.e. a channel can be locked so it doesn't bank switc...

Re: Euphonix DP Update

If digital performer windows don't scroll when Eucon banks are scrolled for some users that might be a GOOD thing. But do multiple Eucon units bank switch together? Or does each individual unit have to be bank switched individually (like DP's implementaion of multiple HUI units)? Even more important...

Re: Best Drive configuration for DP6 w/ VI's

Some ideas without having actual imac experience. It is generally considered that a seperate drive/buss path for each function will optimize performance. On an Imac- probably the internal harddrive is on one buss, firewire on another and usb another. USB 2has a reputation as being sometimes problema...

Anyone tried DP6 DAE with Leopard PT7.4.2 or PT8?

Has Anyone tried DP6 DAE with Leopard PT7.4.2 or PT8? DP6DAE works in tiger with some shortcomings, but if anyone has experience in Leopard in DAE mode please post your experience. Are there new problems? Are the plugin GUI issues still occuring? Is it still not possible to record a mix to tracks in...

Re: Alternative to Virus/Indigo and Pitchblender/Timeblender

Thanks for the responses. Going through banks of Virus presets has been usefull, mostly for bass parts, occassionally percussion and other possibly pitched rhythmic parts. For otherparts various NI synths (FM7, Pro53, Absynth) and samples have been fine, but they don't seem as suited for the parts V...

Re: Trilian

In the past hasn't Spectrasonics been inclined to delay release dates? Though the most recent 8 month in advance announcement of Omnisphere seemed to come out about the right time. It appears it will run on the same engine as Omnisphere, in fact the press release says Trillian instruments can be run...

Alternative to Virus/Indigo and Pitchblender/Timeblender

Can anyone recomend a worthy alternative to Virus/Indigo plugins in a native format. Usually one can feel pretty confident the sonic/ audio quality is as good as it gets with those plugins. Using primarily presets. And also if there are some good native time based efx processors that get a little mo...

Re: Does background analysis change size of original audio file?

Well, this is why it would be good to see what anybody else has observed. Disk format is the same, permissions the same. HFS+, not journaled on both. (in case journaling might change files that had been backed up after observing this first occuring on journaling enabled disks backed up to not jounal...

Re: ProTools vet curious about DP6

The ssl pro convert doesn't specifically include DP as a supported format. Does DP work with apple xml? re: DP vs PT, the neverending saga (and probably it's good it's never ending because it means each program is trying to have something to offer the other doesn't). Dp has a trick where if one has ...

Re: Does background analysis change size of original audio file?

Thanks. That's what circumstances make it look like. But does anybody really know, in order that one can sure the disparate file sizes on the backup drive don't mean the original drive has corruption of files that might result in an incompatibility or crackle or pop? Has anybody observed this slight...

Does background analysis change size of original audio file?

In doing backups it appears that after being analyzed that the audio files that have been analyzed have grown by about 13 to 14k, even after the analysis files are thown out. This phenomena occurs after a session is opened up on another computer that has "always analyze" set as a preferenc...

Re: DP & Pro Tools HD

Isn't the bussing issue that you only can't RECORD from internal busses? Which would still allow using internal busses to route submixes, efx sends etc. And then you could use the workaround of recording to an audio track by routing out hardware outputs and back in hardware outputs. Sounds like an a...
