Re: Problems with EastWest PLAY
Totally grasping at straws but it used to be that mismatched memory pairs were blamed for various problems in older macs. It may not apply to your mac, but 15 gig does sound like it's not all matched unless there are some 512meg chips in there.

Re: Saving DP files to AAF to import into ProTools
Doesn't PT require the optional "digitranslator 2" to import OMF/AAF which has 24 bit? And digitranslator 1 which is built into PT for some years will do 16 bit. Don't think either import much more than the audio files and place them in the appropriate places. Doesn't seem like takes under...

Re: Help: DP w/ Pro Tools and Audacity
When starting a project in DP It's possible DP MIDI information has to be exported seperately as an smdi file from DP, then saved also as OMF or AAF. Then the MIDI info is imported into a new session in PT, then "import session data" is used to import the other tracks into PT. Note there i...

Re: MIDI Tempi export from DP 6.02 to Pro Tools 8.0 LE.
Exporting from DP to PT worked with older versions at least as a multistage process. Export standard MIDI file. Export OMF/AAF. Start new session in PT. Then you import MIDI data (even if there is nothing but the tempo map.- This is done through import MIDI, (or possibly it was import session data?)...

Re: FADE files in PT sessions mess up AAF exports (?)
Just some ideas: import the original audio for the affected tracks as a seperate audio import operation and replace the AAF designated audio files with the original audio files, taking care to replace at the exact same time locations. Maybe use samples as counter/ or shown in edit window to get the ...

Re: Multiple MCU Contollers Bank Switch together?
Yes it does either in a bank switch or individual. It works well. I have the master and 2 extenders for 24 channels. At this point I am glad I did not jump on the Euphonix bandwagon... but I may some day if it gets stable just for a smaller footprint. I also have 2 masters but one has a bad master ...

Isn't there someone who has at sometime had two Mackie Control Universal Master units online with DP?
Thanks

Re: DP6 and EastWest RA
With DP6 TDM/DAE the GUI for some RTAS plugins would work if a wrapped VST version was used instead of the RTAS version. It's possible that when you installed DP6 that whatever component of DP6 that is causing these GUI problems got installed and is being used by your older version of DP5.13 now ins...

Re: DP6.02 - Loads Audio Plug Ins from Protools
Being that the last post was a few days ago probably you have sussed this out. But you need to realize that DP in DAE mode is NOT going to show new DP plugins when in DAE mode, and that in DAE mode it is your TDM and RTAS plugins as used in Protools that will be accessable. As far as your reference ...

Re: DP 6.02 TDM Bouncing Issue
in DPversion 6.x in DAE mode so far one cannot record from INTERNAL busses. A workaround is to route the desired signal out the hardware interface (analouge or digital) and then use that as input for the destination track and record that way. In previous versions of DP it was possible to record from...

Multiple MCU Contollers Bank Switch together?
Will multiple MCU (Mackie Control Universal) controllers bank switch together in MCU mode in DP? NOT expanders- Expander units will bank switch with a master unit-but the expander units have their limitations. The question is whether if there are multiple MCU master controllers (with the transport c...

Re: "Go to Marker" Command
Quickkeys can be kind of deep. If nothing else you can record a sequence which would include a mouse click- but you would have to make sure your windows being clicked in stay in exactly the same place as when the quickkeys recording was done. RE; keystoke for "go to marker"- ProTools has i...

Re: DP6 Default Audio File Format - what to choose?
Digidesign started sort of relegating it's SDII format to legacy status from the time they make PT capable on PC platforms in addition to mac platforms - it's still a format choice, but not if you select "enforce mac/pc compatibiity" in PT On the other hand, if one is going to possible fin...

Re: upgrading os for dp 5.12
Occssaionally non paid updates create problems. So unless there is a real reason (new features, required compatiblity, instability etc.) to upgrade, yeah there is a little risk something might be broken. The more software, plugins and applications you use the more chance you might encounter that. No...

Re: CUrious, who here IS using ProToolsHD w/DP?
Presumably you have searched "DAE" hear and have looked at threads regarding various quirks, deficiencies and shortcomings of DP DAE. Hey, maybe if you are still at Sweetwater your feedback to MOTU might motivate them to fix a couple of DAE things soon, as they haven't gotten pretty close ...
