Re: Spacebar too many times consecutively causes DP freeze

I have had that problem in several DAWs, so maybe it is a CoreAudio or HUI problem.

Re: 10.5.5 is out!

I have OSX 10.5.5 installed as well as DP 6.0.1 and so far no problems at all.

Re: DP 6 GUI - What do you think of it?

My impressions of just the LOOK of new UI are: too bright, cheap-looking, goofy in a minimalistic/Abelton way. The large empty white fields look under-thought akin to an early-release open-source beta. It also sucks more resources. Functionally though, there are fewer graphic glitches than v5, which...

Re: WENT BACK TO 5.13

DP 5.0 was just as buggy when it came out... no biggie. As far as the GUI, MOTU went all cocoa with this one so I imagine it will take a bit to iron it out since they have been working in carbon for so long. I have often found that working across with a cocoa DAW with carbon plugs or vice-versa, the...

I thought that it was just a classic Macintosh April Fool's Joke with publicity stunt underpinnings! I have gotten so used to it over the decades that I can't take seriously any Mac-related product that comes around in April.

Stupid PACE!

I have had nothing but trouble with PACE over the years, so I have staunchly avoided purchasing any plugins that use it. HOWEVER... i have been getting some mysterious hangs and crashes lately (and even issues with my bootloader), so I traced the problem in the Console logs and found that PACE (!!!)...

Re: Will DP6 allow muting of INDIVIDUAL MIDI notes?

Hi. Logic has a mute tool that allows muting of single MIDI notes. It is incredibly handy. I can't find an equivalent in DP for the life of me. I'm not talking about muting regions, just notes. {EDIT} (snipped) I suggested the drum editor thing, but I saw that it was already mentioned... sorry... s...

Re: 5.13 and more.

I got a program Ampitube UNO and how do you use that on guitar tracks? That that the freebie? I used that before. It only runs as a standalone, so you have to send a bus out to it and than back in. You'll have to use JACK or Soundflower or some such. Another note, it is a PowerPC proggie, so if you...

maybe old news? using an old computer as an extended desktop

If this is old news, just ignore me... I'm a little behind the times occasionally. I had a though the other day about using a network connection to extend the desktop of my mac to another computer/laptop... I figured that sine I had thougt of it... it had probably already been done. i figured it wou...

Sidekick. as i understand it, Yamaha heard about people placing reversed-polarity NS-10s in front of a kick drum to catch the low-lows and marketed a little gizmo that does the same thing.

If you enable the output of eahch individual instrument instance in VE, do those outputs show up individually as an input option for audio tracks/aux tracks? They won't make any sound if they are not routed properly within the plug. I don't have a 2408, nor do I have VE currently here, but I do reca...

Depends... are you trying to route the individual instruments to mixer channels in DP or to hardware outputs?

I had that error today a few times while working in MIDI through a soft-sampler. I'm in Tiger. I traced it in the console logs to an OSX problem linked to the Apple IOKit. A few reboots cleared it up, but it had me fuming for a while. Occasionally the error was accompanies by a POP and then no sound...

I use those cheap Studio Projects B-series mics all the time. I opened one up and took a quick glance and they appear ( just looking quickly) to be a neumann-knockoff capsule with a Scheops-knockoff circuit. They use decent WIMA film caps, but the resistors are kinda cheap, but not heinous. They are...
