Re: V-Racks questions ?
On a side note, I'm tempted to put my orchestral template (600-700 patches) in a V-Rack and stop using VEP pro/Slave altogether. How is DP when it comes to handling large VIs within a V-Rack ? vudoo Even if DP's prerendering was perfect, 600-700 instruments loaded at once on one computer would be a...

Re: V-Racks questions ?
I have several sequences accessing the same V-Rack. Is it possible to change the parameters of the VIs within that V-Rack without having so create new ones each time ? For example, i have a Kontakt instrument with a violin patch, my first cue (sequence 1) is using the close mic and my second cue (s...

Re: snap soundbites to grid
never mind, my bad...the quantize worked fine with audio. I had an anchor point at the beginning of my soundbite, that's why the edge was not snapping to the downbeat. All is good.
I still think DP should implement an absolute grid...Click soundbite/note to grid...done! instead of having to quantize.

Re: snap soundbites to grid
Sorry, I should've explained a bit better. I meant holding down the command key(⌘) on your keyboard while dragging the edges so they'll snap to the grid. No worries, i should have explained myself better. What i want is moving the whole soundbite to grid and not Edge editing, as you suggested with ...

How do you snap the edge of soundbite ? I can't seem to find it in the Key Command.Tesionman wrote:What I do is snap the edge of the soundbite using the command key and then moving it to wherever I want.

snap soundbites to grid
Since DP only works in relative grid mode, what's the easiest/quickest way to snap soundbites to grid ?
For MIDI notes i use Quantize, but it won't work for soundbites. Thanks

Re: different faders position for record and playback ?
If you set 'Audio Patch Thru' to 'off' in the Studio drop-down menu, then whilst you record your levels will be set by whatever software controls whichever card you are using. If you're using a Motu card/interface then it would be Cue Mix. In my case I'm using and an RME Madi card so I would use th...

different faders position for record and playback ?
Is it possible to have the faders at different position between record and playback (record off).
When tracking drums, I want to hear less of myself (faders way down) vs when I'm in playback (faders back to normal). Thx

Re: mixing board scroll to selection under stand alone mode
You might want to set DP up so the selected mixer channel shows in a sidebar in the Consolidated Window. You can have your full Mixer Window detached and all tracks visible via scrolling, yet always have the selected track's mixer channel showing in the Consolidated Window. I do have the selected m...

Re: mixing board scroll to selection under stand alone mode
What is your system? Mac, OS, amount of RAM, HHD or SSD, boot drive or external and connected how, version of DP, plugins you are running? Every one of those can make a difference. The trick, once we see your system, is to see if there's anything that can be changed or modified to improve your perf...

Re: mixing board scroll to selection under stand alone mode
Short answer no but...I just posted in your thread about selection bounds and using the "Show Only Selected Tracks" command concerning your MIDI clip question. I just tried this same thing with the Mixer detached (stand alone) and it works. 1 Select the tracks in your view (Tracks or Sequ...

Re: Set to selection bounds shortcut
Ah I see now, sorry. I use Pro Tools daily for work and agree with you in regards to some audio editing work flows that PT makes much easier. How about "Paste Repeat" ? Using this doesn't require a "time selection" only a normal selection like any other copy/paste function. Also...

Cool trick, thx...Maxxy wrote:Doesn't the I-beam trick do it for you vudoo?
Just hold I and double click your soundbite ....done
It'll be great if we can view MIDI as clips in Sequence Edit so this trick will work without having to go back to Track view.
