Re: I get angry and depressed by Sound On Sound...

...As for SOS :vomit: It really caters now for the bedroom producers and the behringer crowd ... That’s now known as the "Music Business". Everyone caters to them, everyone who wants to stay in business that is. bb I have to laugh when I see Behringer brought into the equation because I s...

Re: Plug-in or the real gear? No difference

Anyone who claims that the software doesn't sound like the hardware ought to spend some time with the guys who develop these emulations. They don't fool around, and their development processes and testing methods are exhaustive. That's fine, but that doesn't mean their results are satisfactory. For...

Re: Time for a name change?...Digital Performer to...

You can't really take out "Performer," can you? That's its heritage as a sequencer.

But IF they did decide to change the name, "Composer" would probably be a more accurate description of what people use it for. And that name has place in MOTU's roots as well.

After installing DP 7.2 I am finally coming here to gripe

...but I got nuttin'.:sorry: I got no stupid messages every time I open DP. I got no problem opening a project from a previous version. I got no crashes like I did before for no apparent reason. Not that I had a TON of this stuff going on before mind you (except for the stupid msgs), but just enough...

Yeah but James be sure to put "DP +1" in a post or DP won't get a proper tally.

Re: Represent DP on GS

That's cool, dude. It's just the last time we went thru a poll ting it got ugly over there and we were treated like we were spies or something. If I want to play with children, I'll volunteer at my wife's elementary school. Those GS kids bite. Mikey don't like that! ☹ :) Well it's really just a few...

Re: DP 7.2 is swell but

Themes (or skins) are not anything new these days, the fact that there is still no MOTU-made public skin editor proves that it was indeed an afterthought. In programming world afterthoughts are resource hogs and I only wish more work were done under the hood instead. Aren't most X.x software update...

Agreed, James. With the changes we've seen recently, it seems MOTU may be operating under a new customer service model. Now let's see how fast they deal with techlinks!

Re: UP YOURS!

I had that scope test once. They put me in this room, tell me to strip down and get into the stirrups. Then this nurse saunters in to get me "ready." His name was Raúl. It was all downhill from there. Then I had the other one. Maybe more undignifying. I'm bent over the table and the proc-d...

Re: Need Advice: Where to purchase more RAM?

I dealt with Crucial and had a good experience. And there's a very friendly hobbit around here who gave me some good advice about buying new ram:
