Re: Articulation Maps: route CC data to MIDI channel
If it's not already, what if you set the MIDI track's output to "any"? That is: [VEP Instance/Port] --> [Kontakt/Instr Name] --> "any". It's at the top of the drop-down menu, when choosing individual MIDI channels. This is new in DP11. I haven't tested DPs new articulation maps y...

Re: Vienna Ensemble Pro + DP (these days)?
I have found that DP 10.13 runs far better when hosting VIs in itself, rather than relying on VEPro. This was not the case with previous versions of DP, in my experience. System Specs: macOS Catalina 10.15.7, 9900k, 128GB RAM This discovery was by accident. Some time last year I brought up a blank s...

Re: Cinematic Studio Strings and DP
You're very welcome. To use milliseconds you'll have to click this tiny little button to change the format. You'll see (from left to right) "Shift" options - Early/Later "by" [number values] - tiny little icon. By default it's on beats and ticks. Click once you'll see an analog c...

Re: Cinematic Studio Strings and DP
Hi François, This has been a challenge with CSS, mentioned across many forums, regardless of DAW. I believe your first core issue is that you may be using Time Shift for the whole keyswitch patch. That is - using keyswitches/cc for the articulations on one track . Not only are there varying delays b...

Re: When will DP offer articulation sets?
I'm familiar with the reasons why the attack latency has to be addressed. But is it possible to address it comprehensively in the articulation manager? Do the products on offer now deal with it completely? Don't you still have to adjust the timing of note on for a load of other reasons? Maybe not -...

Re: When will DP offer articulation sets?
Exactly! Being able to send to different channels would solve many of the issues, simply by isolated the 'problems.' Cubase would've been able to manage inter-articulation delay adjustments, had their MIDI sends (using the modifier) been able to delay more than the existing limit of 50ms. Big facepa...

Re: When will DP offer articulation sets?
Offsets per articulation? That gets into taste, unless you can show composers agreeing on what that offset should be each time. I believe this is one of the most important requests. In fact, we should also be able determine offsets within articulations as well, whether it be based on velocity, cc d...

Re: When will DP offer articulation sets?
In no way will I pretend to be a programmer, but I'm curious as to whether they could "simply" combine concepts and tools they already have? Between Devices Groups and Consoles, it seems like the mechanics are already there to make articulation management happen. Combine those with what Lo...

Re: When will DP offer articulation sets?
To be ahead of the curve with articulation mapping, I hope it would include delay adjustments per articulation. I don't think anyone else can do that.

Re: DP vs PT
Weird that Apple sells MDP to DVI and VGA adapters but no MDP to HDMI. Fortunately, many 3rd parties do and they're cheap. Backlit LED HDMI is what you want. This may not even be interesting, but I'll mention anyway. For years Apple was steadfast in its opinion that HDMI was going to be a dead-end....

Re: NAMM 2015: DP9
I don't understand at all what 'how Logic handles regions' has to do with there being an optional absolute grid. I must really be missing something here. Regions/objects and the grid is a symbiotic relationship. Unless I'm completely misunderstanding what you mean by a grid, absolute or not. Region...

Re: NAMM 2015: DP9
There's no need for it to be 'one or the other'. Other softwares implement both just fine. As long as it's not executed in the manner of Logic Pro. I would have to find a different DAW, and I don't mean that in an exaggerated, reactionary, way. What is wrong with how it is implemented in Logic? It'...
