Re: Apogee Symphony has no direct play through?
OK, thanks! I have to mess with the Maestro settings and see what I'm doing wrong.

Re: Direct Hardware Play Through - Greyed Out
The issue isn't that we didn't select it but that the option is not even available (greyed out).

Re: Apogee Symphony has no direct play through?
Hi Playa - thanks for the reply. Yes, I'm aware of what the two options do and I've used an 896HD in the past. My question, more precisely, is that it was working fine (direct hardware playthrough with my Symphony) and now the option is greyed out. I don't remember if it was always greyed out in the...

Re: Direct Hardware Play Through - Greyed Out
You find the answer? Mine is also greyed out and I probably only noticed because I'm recording live tracks and everything is going through the effects. I can't sustain 128 buffer with big projects.
Can't tell if it's a DP setting or Apogee Maestro. I'm on Mavericks 10.9.5.

Re: Apogee Symphony has no direct play through?
Sorry to pull up an old thread but I've been using a Symphony and DP8.07 for months without issue. Suddenly, tonight, I can only monitor record-enabled tracks through effects. "Direct hardware play through" is greyed out. I actually don't remember if it was selectable but I was able to use...

1 x 27" monitor or 2 x 24" ?
I've seen the new crop of Korean made 27" IPS monitors for sale with 2560x1440 resolutions. Anyone use them?
Don't know if 2 x 24" monitors (1920x1080) is better than the 1 x 27" and specifically for use w/ DP7. Would 2560x1440 be too small?

Re: Have all discs (updates) except original DP7 disc
Nevermind - I called MOTU and they said I can just install 7.24 and authorize. It's a full install. She doesn't know where this rumor came from that you had to install prior versions first...although, as I'm typing this, I remember the 7.24 install says you need a current install of DP7. I'll give i...

Have all discs (updates) except original DP7 disc
I moved to a new computer and need to re-install DP7. I have all the update media 7.1, 7.2 (download), etc. except for my original DP7.0 disc. I have my SN on the back of my manual. Can MOTU provide me a download? And anyone know the cost? I assume I need to re-install from 7.0 -> 7.1 -> 7.2? Thanks

Re: What all my money went into...
Thanks for the nice words. I tried two different mastering places and they both failed. I didn't have enough funds to try a 3rd and I was under a deadline. The final guy who did mastered it had nice analog gear that I used to run my stems through but he had Digi converters. I think that made a diffe...

Re: What all my money went into...
Opinions appreciated. I actually liked the sonics of the mix better than the final mastered product but it was too late (long story).
Thanks

Re: Professionnal Mastering
Have you folks ever brought in the computer to the mastering session? I did that a while ago and it was awesome! The plus side, is you can make changes to the actual mix instead of trying to "fix" it in mastering. The minus side, is it takes time to setup and ultimately may cost more since...

For those of you that own both, how does S2 compare to BFD2? I'm so used to the way Toontrack programs work running BFD2 was a little awkward for me but I like the sounds from BFD2. BFD2 has a lot more variety in the sounds and types of drums BUT I like the hi-hat articulations better on S2. They s...
