Re: 828mkII Vista64 MIDI Problem
Has *ANYONE* managed to get their MIDI working with x64 on Vista? It seems like so many people have just had problems with no resolution whatsoever... Quite sad really. so let's sum up my experience with MOTU so far: Symponic Instrument: bad samples, the usual gripes, etc, but at least it was cheap ...

Re: 828mkII Vista64 MIDI Problem
As I mentioned, already did run it as administrator but thanks... I've just tried turning user account control off completely and that sorts the installer problem out for me thankfully. But it still doesn't sort out MIDI problems....

828mkII Vista64 MIDI Problem
Hi all, I see a few others with the firewire drivers for V64 have had problems with the MIDI - presumably exactly the same as I've got, with random notes every now and then, and some notes actually played that are sustained after release. Extremely frustrating!! I'm using a firewire 828mkII. I've ju...

Re:
I have a suggestion: Perhaps some of the happy, experienced MSI users could provide some MSI Tutorials, maybe even offer up some whole DP files with MSI projects in them, because I HAVE heard great stuff from MSI (especially the motu audio demos), but I am a novice MIDI composer, and I have yet to ...

Piano Ranges problems with VST?
Hi I am having some more problems with MSI, in addition to having tuning issues with all instruments as VST. I have just found out that the bottom ranges of all the pianos are wrong. Once I have corrected for the tuning problem (-1 semi, -30 cent), the MSI pianos are and octave above a normal piano....

Mastermindmusics - Your composition is great - really like it - well done. But it really only take you a few minutes? Maybe your definition of a few minutes is slightly different to mine!! Otherwise, you are a musical MASTERMIND!! hehe. Whilst I go make a cup of coffee (it'll only take me a few minu...

Response
Well nobody's resonded.... oh well! I did get a helpful email from Josh @ MOTU tech support, and they know about the issue, and there should be an update that includes a fix for this. Interestingly, if the sampling rate on my 828mkII is dropped to 44.1kHz, the problem vanishes... but who's gonna rec...

MSI example
I have uploaded a file to demonstrate how bad the pitching is with the presets using MSI as a VSTi. The first string synth is done by the Steinberg Embracer VSTi. Then this is dubbed over MSI playing the same part. It is of course possible to manually fix this by adjusting every single preset instru...

Analysing MSI problem - VSTi?
This is a continuation of a previous thread re: tuning problems in MSI running as a VSTi. I'm trying to analyse this problem a little more - could a few people who DO have MSI working correctly as a VSTi (with no instrument pitching problems @ 440Hz) please post a reply - especially if you have got ...

VST Working Verstions
Now that I'm thinking about it, could a few people who DO have MSI working correctly as a VSTi please post a reply - especially if you have got it working on an AMD system and a Cubase sequencer. My system is as follows: VST host/sequencer: Cubase SX 3.1 OS: Microsoft Win XP Professional SP2 CPU: AM...

Hmm, I find it very interesting that it is only in the VST version - hopefully a patch will sort this out. It's a bit reassuring to know this, even though in the short term it is a pain, because it means that each was probably then recorded at 440Hz, which would make sense, and that it's probably so...

Tuning problems with MSI
Hi
I've just got the MSI, and found the exact same problem when playing along with a 440Hz tuned guitar. Very peculiar and extremely irritating - could anyone suggest any solutions, please?
