We tend to use the strip silence function more here now... because it essentially is a gate, but you can then go through and manipulate the fade ins/outs, and lengths and whatnot, because you're left with just teh used soundbites. That being said, there's some work to do on that feature... i like th...

Nitro is great... bubt we've always had a hard time with PSP plugins... the Lexicon 84 wont run at all, it always crashes DP for us. Nitro has also been a culprit for crashing, but not all the time, it seems if we open a small file and put nitro on a track there, close that session, and open the big...

If that doesn't fix it, opening a new project and importing has almost always worked. By importing, do you mean importing each audio file, or could you import via chunks? Beacuse wouldn't chunks just re-import all of kthe soundbites again? And then, if you import each audio file, unless you've merg...

Great... my plugins just disappeared
Okay, so a little while back, i installed the DP 4.61 update to see what it was like... and had a lot of issues with it... i decided that now was not the time to upgrade, until i had a bit more time on my hands... so i uninstalled the update. Now, i had to reinstall all my plug-ins when i did that, ...

I've been flushing the undo history, as stated, but not been removing unussed soundbites. I just tried that now, and it looks like it might have been the problem... the only thing is that i don't want to be deleting the soundbites from the original takes... but if i leave all the takes in, it should...

Help! DP running VERY VERY VERY slow
Okay, here's the situation: I work in a studio with 2 engineers (myself, and 1 other), we have 2 G5s (one dual 1.8 w 1.5gb RAM, and one dual 2.0 w/ 1.25Gb RAM) So when i need to work on something (say, comping vocals), i take his file, bring it to my computer, re-organize it the way i like it (i lik...

That's not true (although the supplied loops are in 4/4). I do 7/4, 17/8 etc all the time. You have to set the time sig in DP and use drag-and-drop slice mode in RMX and then edit the slices to be musical against the new time sig. It takes a little experimentation but isn't difficult. I often do th...

8 note polyphony sounds about right I've seen both with and without drums in MIDI ringtones. If you want to go down the audio route, most newer (past 1 1/2 - 2 years) phones will accept qcp files... if you google for a converter, you should find one. Now, i'm guaging this on the phones we have here ...

Triggers?
Okay, do you guys use triggers on your drums? Right now we're facing a kick drum that my boss would really like to retrigger, he just doesn't like the way it sounds, even with tweaking. So my questino is... is the MOTU trigger plug-in worth dealing with, or should we look at drumagog or somethign li...

My phone plays general MIDI files.... in fact almost all of my ringtones are just MIDI files i've made or have come accross... then i go to www.t1mmy.net and use the vision tool to upload them to my phone for free. Hope this helps... there should be very little converting that needs to happen at all.
