Re: Choice of new monitors

So, here's a little update. After listening to the monitors in different spaces and setups, it seemed very hard to judge them by the small differences that I heard. In some situation, a monitor could sound better or worse, but because of the room or because the other monitors worked better in compar...

Re: Is DP Ever Going To Jump on the VI Bandwagon?

I'm guilty of the "must tweak"-syndrome myself, but maybe less now than before. I feel that it's best to go with the feeling when creating music, and let it define what's needed for some music to be born. If it's a preset that's a catalyte for a feeling or atmosphere, then why not use it. ...

Re: DP Time strech, from ahead of the pack to pack it up!!

At times I use the time strech/compress functions for sound design. If you can do almost unlimited modifications without artifacts then that gives you quite a tool, though the artifacts can act as an effect too.

For sure that vid is not real, I can hear the actual performance behind the processed voice even with my laptop's speakers. It's funny though :)

Re: PreSonus releases a cross-platform DAW

Has anyone figured out what this Studio One will cost? If it's in the same price range as DP (street price) and Logic, I might be interested in taking it for a spin. Shoosh This is from their forum: - Price will be $499 retail, $399 estimated street price in the US. - Shooting for a ship date this ...

Re: Rumors of Logic 9

Anyhow, Apple can and does move fast and if they want to outpace MOTU, they will. I don't know. To do this they'd have to provide stuff like omnisphere for less money. As long as Eric keeps Spectrasonics running I don't see that happening. Companies like them, UAD, Toontrack, Waves etc. will contin...

Re: PreSonus releases a cross-platform DAW

No I hear you. I think however, that maintaining such a company-run forum might be more hassle than they'd want to deal with so long as there are places like this out there. Besides, one thing that I would just HATE dealing with if I had a company run forum is the issue of users who go online to pu...

Re: PreSonus releases a cross-platform DAW

Not sure why you bolded some of those items that DP does actually have... for example, Automatic Delay Compensation is a given. It wasn't meant to be a comparison with DP, the bolded stuff was just something I find very cool to find in a sequencer as young as Studio One. What's this? Chopped liver?...

Re: Rumors of Logic 9

All those rumours are saying a LOT, all that stuff really happening seems almost too cool. Logic 8 is IMO great in it's current state, so improving it substancially in this relatively short time feels unprobable. But..who would mind..
