2408mk II on mac g4 DP4.6 ?

I have not used my Motu gear an a few years but would like to put it to use now, My question is will my 2408 mk II work on a mac G4 running tiger with DP 4.6. Last time I used any Motu gear I was running DP 3.1

Yes it will work.

be carefull if you have 2 UAD cards like me.
It wont work well because the bandwidth buss on the G4 is slow.

only a firewire will work well (with UADs) none a PCI 424

Disagree, I had 2 uad's in my G4 with my PCI 424 card and never had bandwith issues......

I put my 424 card in the slot next to video card and UAD's in slot 4 and 5
DP 6.02
Quad 3.0 Ghz, 8.0 GB RAM, 2 - 1TB HD, 5 - 500GB HD's (RAID)
MOTU HD192, 2408mk3, Microlite, UAD-1, UAD-2, Powercore, Lavry Blue AD/DA convertor, LA-610
Euphonix MC Control

29 years in this business and counting.....Loving every minute of it.....

maby you are lucky!

i was going to do the upgrade from 324 to 424 but I did't get a secure answer from MOTU that the crackles and pops that I had will go with the 424.

A technician that I asked told me that the buss on the G4 is slow so i am going to buy the ULN-2.
