Do any of you have a SM7b? And if so, what pre are you using with it.....

Thanks all.

Yep, i have 2 of them. I use them mostly with API 312's. The are great and often overlooked mics. I have also used them with my calrecs and UA's. I have used them with a mackie with way less than stellar results. These mics have a low output.
3GHz 8 core, 6GB ram, DP 5.13, OSX.4.11, PTLE 7.4.2, Rosetta 200 digi003, waves platinum, mach five, distressors, ADL 1000, API, Calrec, UA mic pres, neumann, AT, shure, Sennheiser and rode mics...old guitars and drums...nord rack 2, s90, micro korg...yaddda yadda.

I have one and love it. I use it with the new Mackie Onyx preamps (they have a bit more gain) and it works well. For certain voices it is just right. Often, it comes off like a sm57 on steroids - just a bit more "there".

Sometimes a JoeMeek VC2, sometimes an API 312. I'm about to pull the trigger on a new pre and I'll use it with that too. The SM7b is definately a great mic.
