Signal Generators

Post by sdemott »

How do you overcome the lack of a signal generator in DP for doing tail-pops, 2-pops, 3-beeps and the like?

When I was using Pro Tools, they supplied a very usable plugin for these things. DP doesn't seem to have anything than can generate a sinewave at a given freq.

What are you using to do this?

I did check out the list - but I find it hard to believe anyone is doing any real Post work without a good plugin for this...hence the post to this forum.

The standalone apps are fine in a pinch - but not ideal for my purposes.

How do you deal with it when clients ask for 2-pops for each reel? How do provide calibration tones when requested?

Does anyone know of a plugin, MAS or AU, that can do signal generating?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

For what it's worth - i just came across this:
http://mda.smartelectronix.com/effects.htm

Haven't tried them out yet, but one of the included plugs is a signal generator...and they're all free AU plugs.
