SOLVED—Computer People: How to erase an SDD I can't mount?

Weird problem:

My old Intel Mac Pro died… will not boot up at all.

I found a buyer for it, but I need to include the original 1tB Mac blade in the machine. I don't have a way of mounting that blade in any of my other computers (won't fit in my Envoy Express), so I have no way to erase what's on it before I send it off.

Is there any way to erase an SSD I can't mount?

Well, just on the off chance the machine might boot (even though it had been dead since late December), I plugged it in and got it to fire up in recovery mode so I could erase the internal SSD.

Whew!

Good. You don’t want to buy one of those OWC boxes for AHCI SSDs for that one use. Those boxes can’t be used for anything else and vice versa.

Yep…. the reader would have cost more than I’ll be getting for the Mac.
