Interesting regarding beta 3...I may just hove to move there once I complete this project I'm in the middle of if they don't get the official out before then. I moved the project over to Logic, no crashes with Kontakt 7 and guitar rig pro 7. But If any of you use Virharmonic Libraries....bohemain violin and bohemian cello, I get crashing issues with those plugins which use their own bespoke plugin engine. Sometimes Logic will crash and allow you to recover, others it will beach ball like DP... Looks like Virharmonic have some work to do for Sonaoma....to be honest their libraries have always been a pain to work with...but they sound really good so I put up with it. Spending some time in Logic really makes me appreciate MIDI and audio workflow in DP.

I am speculating that Kontakt 7.10.1 is actually 7.9.0 and only available to those of us who had installed 7.10.

Big Update: So.. somehow I have a stable system for several days now. I am using Sonoma 14.5 beta (i did not update to beta 2 or 3) with DP 11.31 and Kontakt 7.10.1 on M2 Pro Max, This combination seems to do the trick for me. I haven't had any crashes and everything is working properly as it should. I'll post back when/if it starts having problems again.
It was not my intention to be the canary in the coal mine on this. Had Kontakt been my only concern, I would have stayed put at 14.5 beta 1 — and that is my recommendation.

It was trying to see if Antares and Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020 would work (nope) that pushed me into beta 2 and then beta 3 when Kontakt broke again.

Hey Mike,

You mentioned Antares.
I've been going nuts trying to get their stuff working again.
Is this another M2 Mac Studio Sonoma casualty?

BTW, thanks for all of your great work and insight.
Much appreciated!

If you need Antares Auto Tune, which is priced way too high IMO, Waves Tune Live is, also IMO, far better and available for a lot less cash if you don't hate Waves.

Antares is not working over Sonoma for anyone as far as I know. The issue is that their plugs cannot verify the licenses. The license manager opens but no-go. Apple Silicon is not the issue.

I have never liked Waves but I don't like Auto-Tune either and have found other apps that do what I need. There's a permanent license upgrade to v. 10 but I have no interest in it v. 9 is still supported.

Auto-Tune EFX+ has its uses and 9.2.1 is supposedly still supported but if there's no permanent license upgrade, I'll let it go. I can use a plug that tunes in real time. Brainworx bx_crispytuner shows promise for what I want and is only $24.98 for me. I'll be testing it soon.

My AVOX 4 suite is the one that frustrates me. There is no upgrade and I do use some of those plug-ins. I don't really want to keep a Ventura Volume going just to be able to use it.

I hope that going to that asinine CodeMeter licensing scheme saved them a lot of money. It has certainly lost them customers and I am expecting to join that list. Sometimes, I feel like driving the 25 minutes to Santa's Village Rd, (yes, really) just to yell at someone.

Joining in VERY late, I’m still on Intel and IS 13.6.6. I have not updated NI since I disinherited a project in February. I had many Kontakt crashes and instances going blank then but limped through. Should I go to NA and update or leave it alone for a while. I’m thinking this is mainly an AS +OS 14x+NI (and other) problem so I might be ok. Any confirmation?

I’ve been reading this read with keen interest. Thanks to all for doing this.

I've exchanged about 20 emails with Antares tech support, trying to get the plugins working.
Detailed stuff like renaming folders within CodeMeter... many steps.
They didn't mention that Antares plugs don't work on Sonoma and they know that's what I'm using.
Very frustrating!
I've tried in vain to find a phone number to actually speak to someone.

Please go to Santa's Village and give them coal for their stockings.

That's a great idea!
I already have that plug and forgot about it.
Seems to be a great solution.
Thanks!

Kontakt7/MOTU DP/Loopback and pd are all running together rock solid for me since I installed 14.5 Beta 2 - no more crashes.

Has anyone run Kontakt7 as a plugin in DP under Beta 3?

Are you guys saying that Antares plugins aren't working in DP/Sonoma or Sonoma in general? The only Antares product I still use is Harmony Engine (latest, 4.4.1), and it's working fine for me in Studio One 6.6 and Logic 10.8.1, on Sonoma 14.4.1. (Sorry, I don't have DP 10 installed on this Mac to test.) Shows as authorized in Antares Central. I originally had the iLok version, but switched to Antares' new auth system... maybe last year? Does the fact that I authorized it on Ventura explain why it works on Sonoma for me?
