High quality webcam wanted

Hi all,
Does anyone have advice on purchasing a new webcam that will work with my current Intel iMacPro, and hopefully work with my next AS machine (M2 or M3 chip)?

I am doing a lot of Zoom work for creative meetings and teaching (including larger classes). I'm realizing how not good the iMacPro cam is and want to upgrade for at least the short term
.
I don't mind paying Ca. $200 for something that is good if it will hold me over until I can get my new computer, even better could be used with it, but the new computer purchase probably won't happen until spring-summer.

With my new set up I have no idea what monitors I would purchase (I currently have the 5K 27" iMacPro and an older Dell U2414H), but what ever they are I'm less interested monitors that have built-in cameras and speakers, and more interested in their image quality and ports offered. Ideally I'd continue using this new webcam and buy something wither without one or not worry/use what comes with it if this is better.

I have no experience with using a 3rd party cam in terms of what works with Mac, what comes with good software, what is easy to set up and use, and what has excellent image quality. I don't mind getting something that I will "grow into" should the tech get better (e.g. I gather Zoom doesn't handle 4K, but it might?)

My audio for all of this is running through my Rode NT1-A and my UltraLite MK4.

I was thinking of this: https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Calling ... WWP79?th=1
A lot of sites list different brands or models as their best of so it's a bit confusing.

Thanks!

Joel

I bought a couple in 2021 for use with my iMP, This one is pretty good but not a huge improvement over the built in camera. Some of its features require using the Logitech app which I found to be a royal PIA — perhaps that's better now. I did wind up using it with my 2012 MBP (without the app) where it was a big improvement.

I bought this one for my MBP and wound up giving it to a buddy for use with his 2014 Mini — those have no mic or camera so, if the monitor doesn't have one, you need a webcam. It is not as good as the iMP's built-in. I rate this one as Outstandingly Better than Nothing.

Anyway, I found it easier just to use the built in camera and mic for my lockdown zoom calls. My attendees told me that the video and sound of the Logitech were a little better, perhaps, but not much so I put it in a box. I should put it on Reverb,, I suppose.

I understand that my new Studio Display has some cool features but I've not checked them out yet. I think its camera is better than my iMac Pro—I'm told it is—but I don't see it. When I have the time...

Ha Mike! I think " Outstandingly Better than Nothing" should be an album title.

I went ahead with the Logitech Brio, it was on a bunch of list and not too expensive, and will hope it works well with, or without their app. I also think it has USB-A and C. Now whether I'm posting here again about getting it to work I cannot guarantee!

I appreciate the time, and I can always return it.

Best,

Joel
