New error on opening a file. Any ideas? - RESOLVED

Post by NealF »

Anybody know what this means? It started to happen on one file out of the blue.

Before this started, there was another error. Something about missing license on a Waves plugin.

Thanks.

When I see that usually it's a problem with a plugin. Don't know if a missing license on a Waves plugin might cause that to happen. My guess is there's a plugin in that particular project that is having an issue. My authorization? Maybe it has been udpated and newer version is causing an issue?

Don't think it would be that. I used that file yesterday with no problem. Haven't updated anything for a long time.

Was it there after a reboot?

If you have anything installed on external drives, do they all show up?

Do you mean just restarting the program? Or restarting the computer?

I restarted the pgm several times. Works fine on other files.
Everything's on my main drive.

The weird thing is I've been using this and all my files all the time without this happening.

The computer.

I would shut down first before rebooting, especially if you installed or updated anything recently. There may have been a temporary conflict.

Just restarted the computer and got this message (which I think was the first one I got yesterday.)

Looks like it might be something I have to contact Waves for.

OK. Figured it out.

I opened Waves Central and followed the direction on Waves' site to activate licenses. Apparently, this plugin deactivated itself with no help from me.

So it looks like problem solved. Except for the mystery as to why it deactivated after months of use.
Anyway, life is good again. :)
