Getting this stupid error ALL THE TIME lately with Softube Central and having to force quit. Frequently have to reinstall the stupid helper app or whatever. Drives me nuts!!! Generally requires force quit of the app as well.

This time a restart of my Mac worked. Didn't have to delete and then relaunch thus re-installing the helper app. Softube Central has not been very robust for me over the past perhaps month or so. Wondering if I'm the only one?

I haven't been having any problems with it and about a week ago, it automatically updated itself (including the helper) and seemed to work fine, but I'll be trying it again soon and see if it misbehaves. I'm on a 2019 Intel MacBook Pro running Catalina, so maybe there are some Apple Silicon-related or newer MacOS version-related hiccups happening that I'm not seeing.
Anyway, I'll report back here after I try it again.

Following up - it's been working fine over here. Just tried it again today and no issues.

Thanks. Yeah. It is better again here too. I think they might have been having a server issue when I posted.

I was having this problem for a while, but not recently. Sometimes that app is slow to find things, especially recent purchases, but I think also it sometimes reports false errors, as I've seen plug-ins authorize and pass validation that their license manager app said it couldn't find. I reinstalled a few times, but ultimately an iMac reboot or two did the trick.

It's the one from IK Multimedia that continues to befuddle me, and not all of those errors are red herrings with no downstream impact. Their Custom Shop seems to be the culprit, and I think it is now embedded at the plug-in level like a help button. I don't think Softube does this with theirs. IKM's metering plug-in crashes DP a lot.

Not sure if those two vendors share tech on those manager apps, as they are consistently the two that give me the most issues. The one from iZotope can get confused, as can Native Access, and they'll be slowly merged this year. More and more vendors are using manager apps, and though there are hiccups, I think it has improved things a bit.

After the last update mine starts like that every time, but a few seconds after it opens it 'refreshes' and starts connecting and finding everything.

Yeah... things have settled down now for me with it.

Yeah, it can give a few scares at startup, but I think mostly it's slow and takes a few iterations to settle down.

Sigh! Happens way too often, honestly. At least to me. My verdict: Softube Central is flaky. And here I go again, reinstalling their damned helper app! Maybe I need to put an alias of "Softube Installer Helper Uninstaller.pkg" on my desktop, eh, Softube??
