Consolidate edited tracks

Post by apanacci »

Hey all got a question here. In Protools after editing a track with cuts and fades etc. I can consolidate the track to be a complete track without the edits showing. Not heal separation. In DP to I have to bnc the track to do that or is there a consolidate feature? Thanks !

Isn’t that more or less what Freeze Selected Tracks does? The clunkier approach would be to Bounce, keep the originals, but mute or disable them and hide it until you need to do more edits.

What about Merge Soundbites (in the Audio menu). Doesn't include automation but does a PT style consolidate. You can select the track or select multiple soundbites in the track.

Handy to make a Duplicate Take first, so if you have to revisit edits, you can revert.

Merge also writes pitch and soundbite volume info into the file, so pitch edits are incorporated in the track and the entire new merged soundbite (not the fader) is set to volume of Zero.
