Would like to purchase a copy of MOTU Mosaic 1.58 CD that has keyword activation, not by floppy disc

Post by garybrosen »

I have a bunch of Mosaic vocal arrangement files that I would like to convert to MIDI and then transfer to Sibelius or Finale. However, I need to purchase a MOTU Mosaic 1.58 CD that is activated by keyword, not by floppy disc (I already bought a 1.58 CD on ebay before I realized that there were two different kinds). If anyone has one lying around that they would like to sell, I would very much like to buy it. Thanks.

System Requirements for Composer's Mosaic

Composer's Mosaic version 1.5 has the following system requirements:

68020 CPU or faster; PowerPC CPU recommended
8 MB RAM or more; 16 MB RAM or more for large scores. Virtual memory should be disabled if you are using MIDI playback or recording.
Mac OS version 7.5 to 9.2.2; Mac OS X is not supported
CD-ROM drive for installation and authorization
FreeMIDI version 1.3 or later for MIDI playback or recording
LaserWriter 8.1.1 or later for EPS export
There was a Demo CD but, like Digital Performer through DP 7, a v. 1.5x Purchased CD is required for authorization. The Key Code does not do it by itself. From the old download site:

https://motu.com/techsupport/technotes/ ... loads.html
Version: 1.58. Size: 1.88MB Platform: Mac OS9. Composer Mosaic 1.58 update (PPC). These versions require a Mosaic 1.5x version master disk to launch.
BTW, MOTU Key Codes require a dash instead of a minus sign.

Anyway, I don't know if the last file on this site will do it but the first three will not.

Macintoshgarden.org still lists it.

Ok, what worked? In case someone ever comes back with the same question.

Well the file in link #4 at:

https://www.macintoshrepository.org/594-mosaic

is actually the same file as at link #2 at:

https://macintoshgarden.org/apps/mosaic

And the keycode at Macintoshgarden worked perfectly:

CM15-1337-1337-68Q

So, many thanks again. I don't know why my own searches did not come up with these links, but YOU did it!! I'm able to open up my Mosaic files for the first time in 40 years.
