Post by James Steele »

I have no less than TEN Waveshell plugins in my Components folder. Really, Waves? How many do we need? Why?!

I think there is a different one for each plugin format and each Waves version. So 10 is not unexpected if you don't have the bleeding edge version of every plugin. Maybe you don't need them all?

I know they are all updated to the latest versions. That’s why I don’t understand why I have that many waveshells.

Are they just different versions of the same thing? I have three because I have three different versions of Waves plugins, two V9s and a V10, and I don't use anything other than AU plugins.

This is what's in there and it's filtered right now to show just Audio Units. I have that also for VST3 and AAX. I may have to write Waves support and ask what gives here? Why doesn't the installer delete the old Waveshell if installs a new one?

Good question. Looks like poor design, or laziness. You could try moving the oldest out of the folder and see if everything still works.

True. I’m just hesitant to do that because I actually bought the Horizon bundle a while back and have some others and so I would have to open and test every plug-in with each wave shell that I remove. Seems tedious.
