Linking plugin parameters across different tracks?
Let’s say I have four guitar tracks, each with an identical instance of a guitar sim. When I change the cab on Guitar 1, I want the other three instances to change along with it automatically. Cubase and Pro Tools do this. Not that I’m comparing DAW’s, just saying it’s a common method of doing this. Can DP do this somehow?

I guess I don't understand why you'd use four instances of the same plug when you could just use one on an aux track and use sends instead.

Amp sims don't work that way, for instruments anyway.
Anyone know how to accomplish this in DP?

Re: Linking plugin parameters across different tracks?
If the plugin has some MIDI learn function for changing presets (like via MIDI program change message) or somehow changing the cab via MIDI (?)-- you could try sending that MIDI command to each plugin via MIDI track.
Or perhaps you could pre-load the 2nd guitar rig instance as another plugin insert slot and use mixer settings to switch between bypassed states of 1st to 2nd?

Thank you, but that's a workaround and I'm looking for the real thing

I've never heard of being able to link plugins in the way you describe. It's not a bad idea.
Hopefully, you'll find a workaround to using a workaround.

Re: Linking plugin parameters across different tracks?
I haven’t thought about it that much, but would grouping the tracks help?
