I've posted about this several times and I'm still on K7.6.0. MOTU has confirmed this through a
techlink.

Same here. The problem is kontakt 7.6.1.
Reverting to 7.6.0 stopped the crashes for me.

How do you revert back?

Update: Just Googled and apparently same problem in a Logic forum.

I will try Time Machine...

You know Native Instruments must be burning the midnight oil for this. It completely stopped my ability to use my Komplete sounds.

Awesome! Thank you. I'm not crashing, but I'm getting CPU spikes in lots of projects and I've been chasing my tail trying to figure out what is causing it. It may be the new Kontakt 7.

Just in case anyone is suspicious of Google Drive files, Evil Dragon (Mario Krušelj) works for NI and is absolutely trusted in my book.

James, I've been having tons of CPU spikes and weirdness so it must be Contact because it ain't happening with 7.6.0!

It made my Mac Studio Ultra feel like a sputtering old computer.

I’m still having spikes. Or was. Long story short I tried to do a number of things including installing macOS 14.1 beta which didn’t help, then I tried to roll back which screwed something else up, so now I have to wipe my boot volume and reinstall the OS and then install the apps and everything from a time machine back up. And I have to leave on a trip for three days tomorrow so I’m having to leave my Mac in utter disarray while I’m gone which I hate.

I will say this though. There is a practical case to be made for setting up separate volumes on the same internal SSD. Because it was set up this way, I was able to erase and reformat my boot volume without touching the other volume which contains my DP projects. Had I simply put my DP projects in a folder rather than setting up a separate volume, I couldn’t have reformatted my boot volume without erasing my DP projects as well.

Yep! To my mind, this settles the debate. I can’t imagine the hassle I’d be dealing with otherwise.
