Work around for crashing with DP 11.22 and Eucon 2023.6 on Apple Silicon Macs

Crashing with DP 11.22 and Eucon 2023.6 on Apple Silicon Macs? Here's a workaround. This has come up for me and I've been chatting about it with MOTU. Eucon 2023.6 introduces some instability with DP 11.22. Symptoms include crashes upon opening projects, sometimes requiring 2-3 attempts before it opens. Once the project opens, switching between different windows or window sets may cause crashes.

There are a couple of options until this issue is fixed:

1) Running DP in Rosetta. (Not good)
2) Downgrading to Eucon 2022.9 (This is good except if you need to run the latest version of Avid Control on iPad or tablet. It is not compatible with that.)

3) The best option (for now) if you NEED to run Eucon 2023.6 on your Apple Silicon Mac. Go to your Control Surface Setup and choose "Show All Tracks" from the drop down menu as shown in the screenshot.

This keeps the tracks on your control surfaces static. You might also try "Pin to Mixer" but if you are in the Mixing Board and you rapidly show/hide tracks (like switching between "All" or "Play Enabled" with a hotkey, you *might* trigger a crash. This still won't protect you from project load crashes, but once the project IS loaded, you should be okay.
