Quantize Blacked out running Rosetta

Post by macbethas »

Anyone else having this problem?
Running Ventura on an M1 MacStudio
In order for Audioease Altiverb windows to display correctly I need to run Rosetta
Running Rosetta is making the DP Quantize window blacked out so as I can't control anything.
All apps and plugins are up to date

Advice welcome

Altiverb runs perfectly under DP Native; you don't need to run DP Rosetta.

Unless something has changed (I doubt it), in order to INSTALL Altiverb, DP must be run in Rosetta Mode.

Here are the instructions Audio Ease provided me when the Mac Studio was first released:
Please try this:
- restart the mac (oh yes)

- then go to the applications folder, locate your DP app, hit get info in the finder and tick the box for the option 'open using Rosetta'

- now run DP, try to use Altiverb, if it works, quit DP

- then go to the applications folder again, and now turn off (deselect) the option for DP to 'open using Rosetta'.

- run DP again, Altiverb should still work.

Best regards,

Thanks for the reply. Following those exact instructions, when back in native mode I see no measurements in the Altiverb window (screen shot attached).

On Altiverb website is the following:

Apple silicon native support
We are currently working on adding native silicon support to this plug-in. As soon as we have more news on this you will hear from us.
The performance using Rosetta 2 is great. This means you can use this plug-in on an Apple silicon machine right now.

You’re having the font issue that I had once. Not sure how I resolved that, but I will check. I posted a thread here about it.

Here's the thread where I ran into this issue:

https://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=72967

Here's a link that Audio Ease tech support sent me to supposedly fix the problem:

https://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=72967

I never tried it as somehow when I updated from Monterey to Ventura, the issue went away on it's own.
