Dp is slow to respond. If I hit play it’s not instant play it pauses for a few seconds. What could that be?

+1

Also check your prime milliseconds. Info on this in the Getting Started Guide (not the User Guide).

I’ve had that happen with lookahead plugins. IZotope Nectar has caused that behavior.

I hope that this helps.

Yes, same problem here. It's so bad (2-3 second with just a couple of instruments on an M1 Max 64G Mac Book Pro) that I've taken to always running in Live Performance mode, which of course really increases the processor hit (see post "DP Memory Issue in the "Usage, Techniques, Tips & Optimization board).

Are those instruments in one instance of whatever VI player you are using? If so, they are using only one Core. If you run each VI in a separate instance of your player, the OS spreads the load among the cores. Also true with windows.

Yes, using the new Enhanced Instrument Tracks with just one track per instrument.

Here, I've had no issue like you guys are experiencing, even while using look-ahead plugins.

I'm sure you have re-booted your Mac... yes?

Have you tried reinstalling DP?

Yes I’ve rebooted the Mac. It’s not the Mac as it works fine in my other daws. No I’m not reinstalling

Reinstalling DP takes very little time and should not affect your prefs, etc. Don’t know that it will work, but it’s pretty painless to do.
