Vienna Ensemble Pro - Saved and Organized and Combined PDF Manual

Post by James Steele »

Since the point of this site is supposed to be DP users helping other users and I just did a LOT of work just now going to the Vienna Symphonic Library website and then printing the PDF for each section of the online manual to my drive, then merging the individual PDFs in the same order into one main PDF manual for VE Pro... I decided I should go ahead and share the result here.

https://motunation.com/files/Vienna_Ens ... mbined.pdf

(NOTE: Before you add to MacOS Books app, etc, you might want to replace the underscores in the filename with spaces. Otherwise, even if you rename in Books, it doesn't seem to sort alphabetically correctly.)

Now maybe VSL has one contiguous PDF manual for this software, and maybe I went through a lot of effort for no reason... but I couldn't find anything but the web version with an option to print to PDF only be section. Anyway, this is all part of my effort to have my iPad loaded with pretty much every manual I need. I don't want to have to pull up a manual on one of my computer screens, so iPad is more convenient.

I hope I don't get in trouble with VSL on this. If they ask me to, I'll pull it down but since this is all freely downloadable on their website and the only thing I really did is go through the effort of downloaded the individual PDFs and merging them, hopefully they won't mind. Also, I didn't include every section... I left out a couple things I didn't feel I needed.

Thanks for this, James. I've always struggled with the VSL documentation.

No problem. I did this for myself and so very happy if it helps someone else. I really wish ALL companies had proper PDF manuals for use offline. I don’t like web based manuals.

Thanks so much for this!

I find VE Pro so confusing, and it really helps to have this for me to study and figure things out I've never figured out how to do.
