I would suggest you need to contact MOTU directly? This site is a user site and maybe someone can help... maybe not... but MOTU probably can.

Have you registered DP with MOTU? If yes, you can try moving the Auth file for DP in \ProgramData\MOTU to your desktop and then start DP. It should ask to reregister when you start again. If all goes well, trash the old auth file. As far as uninstalling older versions, locate the installer for the version that you want to uninstall on MOTU's download site. Download and use that to uninstall. Then I would repair or reinstall the new version. I'm not a fan of MOTU's installers on Windows. I always uninstall the existing version before installing the new version. That way you'll always know if uninstalling will be an issue before you get a couple or more versions installed.

MOTU hasn't used Auth Files for disk authorization since DP 7 — and it was Mac Only back then. Beginning with 8, Authorization is online. Likewise, there is no "demo" version anymore — the download is the working version requiring your name, email and the key code to activate.

A few common issues:

You are using a port blocker or an aggressive firewall that won't let DP's license manager talk to the License Server. A problem with internet or the server going down on a Sat/Sunday will have the same effect.

You entered your Serial Number. This is not your Key Code

You entered minus signs - instead of dashes - in the Key Code. Don't know if this is still an issue in DP 11 but this one got me for years. Entering O instead of 0 and similar mistakes won't fly.

With an upgrade, your email and the spelling of your name needs to match what MOTU has on file. I need to remember that MOTU knows me as Mike, not Michael.

There are some less common problems. A call to MOTU during their Support hours should get you up and running.

Thanks for that. This is different than the DP 7 and earlier Auth files for CD verification that were hidden. Anyway, nice to know where they are on a Mac.

DP launches without phoning home after being verified and can be launched off-line.

Interestingly, Performer Lite does not use these files. It stores a file elsewhere and compares that to the MOTU license server every time PL is launched. Every now and then, I'll get a call from one of my PL users that it won't launch. "Wait till they reboot the server on Monday".

ProgramData is by default hidden in the File Explorer. If you can't see it on your boot drive, change the View in the Explorer Options to Show Hidden Files.
