USB-C to USB-C cable for M4 with MacBook Pro (16" 2021)? RESOLVED

Has anyone found a suitable USB-C to USB-C cable to connect an M4 to a MBP that has only USB-C connectors?

What works for my MBP 16" 2021 (it has only USB-C /Thunderbolt 4 connectors):
- the 3 foot usb cable that shipped with my M4
- this MOTU cable is USB-C on one end and USB-A on the other, so I use an Apple adapter (USB-A to USB-C) to plug it into my MBP

What didn't work:
- I purchased a $20 Anker USB-C to USB-C cable (3 ft) rated for USB 2.0 per the M4 user manual https://www.amazon.com/dp/B093GGBM61?ps ... ct_details
- Tons of pops and cracks with this cable so I am returning it

I need a spare USB cable for live performances. I checked the MOTU site and FAQs and don't see any place to purchase a replacement cable, or any recommended cable from MOTU. The M4 user manual mentions the following:

Connect the M4 to your host computer with the supplied USB-C to USB-A cable. If your computer has USB-C ports,
use a USB-C to USB-C cable (rated for USB2) or a USB-A adapter (both sold separately). The M4 is powered by its
USB connection to the host computer.

it’s possible tat the Anker has a problem with bus ower. I don’t know.

I returned the Anker cable and got a 1 meter USB-C to USB-C charge cable from Apple. It connects directly from the M4 to my M1 Mac (USB-C Thunderbolt 4). Appears to be working fine so far... no pops and noises.

Apple also sells a longer 2 meter USB-C charge cable, but I can't vouch for that one.

Thanks for letting us know. $19 to fix the problem is a good thing. It's interesting that Apple's 2m cable is the same price.
