828mk3 hybrid. Narrowed down the problem

Post by HARDDRlVER »

How do I get a signal to show up on the digital meters on the front panel of the 828mk3 hybrid?

Toslink from outboard modules plugged into toslink a. Both 828 and gear are set to 48k. Toslink is chosen in the audio console.

I get a blinking signal at the MIDI indicator on the front panel.

I get a signal at the main outs.

I get a signal in the Daw

I DO NOT get a signal on the input digital meters at the front panel.

Hoe is this possible? Surely I need to adjust the digital input, but how is the signal making its way to the main outs and daw, but not showing up on the digital meters?

This is about as simple as I can explain.

Answered by Motu tech.
Apparently [toslink] connections do not affect the front panel digital input meters (as per Motu tech)

I have not tried a digital coax cable, but surely some type of digital connection must cause those puppies to fire off.

Just thought I would post this in case anyone else goes searching the same rabbit hole.
