Hi Friends!
I just moved from a good old (but yet too simple) Scarlett 2i4 to a 896mk3. The main reason behind this was to use external audio effects in Ableton, implying more I/O.
First experiment was routing audio from Behringer Odissey to Ableton, then to KT 3rd dimension chorus (through output 6) and then back in Ableton (through input 6).
But for reasons I don't understand, I need to enable mono outputs 7&8 and stereo 1/2, then audio to 8 and from 6 (this one make sens) in Ableton settings and external audio effects.
Why 7&8 and 1-2? (no sound if one of those disabled)
Why audio to 8 (and not 6)?
And why outputs always come by pairs?

Re: [896mk3] struggling to understand how to set I/O in Ableton
Just understood that Main Outs 1-2 stereo outs are the reason why all Outputs gets 2 slots stagerred in Ableton (output 1 is actually 3, 2 is 4 and so on).
I managed to get this working as I intended to, but is there any way to fix this in 896mk3 settings/console/cuemix ? As 896 output 1 became actual output 1 in Ableton, and not 3 ?
