Big Sur vs Monterey

I'm in the process of updating test volumes. I'm wondering whether there is any point in trying Big Sur again. Is there much that works in Big Sur that doesn't work in Monterey? Should I just skip Big Sur or is it some kind of OS sweet spot (like Snow Leopard)

Everything seems solid to me in Monterrey. I’m still missing a few plugins, but, that’s M1 related not OS.

I have a couple apps that work better over Monterey including Finale and Apple’s Books.app (seriously, Apple broke Books). Any remaining issues for me are related to some plugs not being M1 Native, notably NotePerformer and Exponential Audio reverbs, only two of which have been promised M1 updates.

I see Big Sur/Monterey as being similar to High Sierra/Mojave. Apple broke a few things and didn’t fix them till the next OS. Going back to the memory bank, Snow Lion 10.8.2 fixed scan/print issues broken in Leopard that were not fixed in Snow Leopard or Lion. I got a nice consulting fee for helping with that.
