I want to invest about 1800 into a GREAT vocal mic.
PLEASE dont anyone say "get an sm57"...cause thats not gonna cut it.
I do R&B vocals and need something crisp and clear. I'll be running it through an AVALON 737.
My options now are
Soundelux iFet7
Soundelux U195
Neuman U87
any thoughts?

I've only used the U87, but I'd think you'd be happy with any one of the three.
Can you test-drive all of them with your Avalon to see what mic-pre combo suits you best?
Oh, if you're seeking pro opinions on these mics, you might want to check out recording.org. A lot of producer/engineer types there.

They are all great microphones indeed.
Recently I have found myself asking this very question:
How can I project a unique voice through the recordings I produce?

I don't know if this will help but I bought a U195 about 4 months ago and have used it on about everything I could with great results.
Lead Vocals, Sax, Bass Drum, Guitar Cab, Acoustic Guitar. Overhead
Very soild..... Picked it up used in prestine condition for 800$ without the shockmount
I think you could always fined a use for it.
A U195 and a AEA 84 would be close to 2000$ and you would have a lot of basses covered.....
Though I do hear th iFET smokes.....
Good Luck
