MOTU M Series or ASIO4All

Post by MCKNZ61 »

Hi, Newbie 61 yo user, both to digital recording and this forum. Question is this: Which should I be using, MOTU M Series or ASIO4All with my DAW software? Also can both exist in harmony or should one be disabled or removed? I'm using a Microsoft Surface Pro 7 (Intel Core i5, 8GB), MOTU M2 audio interface with software options of Performer Lite, FL Studio 20 Producer or Studio One 5 Artist. Leaning toward the latter but not 100% sold which DAW I'll use.

You should configure the DAW software to use the MOTU M2 ASIO drivers. Both can be installed on the computer at the same time with no issue. You'd use ASIO4ALL if you did not have an audio interface available and wanted to use the computer's onboard audio. You can switch the configuration back and forth in your DAW software according to your needs.
