Unisyn woes

Of course MOTU doesn’t support this software any longer, but I’m really at a loss.
After an old computer running Unisyn finally died, I managed to get Unisyn 2.02 installed into OS9 on an iBook running OS10.3 (booted into OS9).
The key code MOTU sent me is recognized, the app opens… rather, it tries to… then instantly quits.
When running Unisyn in Classic mode it asks for the key code before it will start, but does not recognize it.
Apparently on my old now deceased computer I was running Unisyn 2.1.1, as I have the data saved. perhaps the update was received via download as I don’t have a disk for it. This “new” computer seems even willing to open the uninstalled yet saved version of this app (it’s named Unisyn 2 OS X), but again, asks for a key code when starting, which it does not recognize.
Without Unisyn I have no way to use this 1994 Roland synth, some of the sounds are better than anything I’ve been able to find virtually…. and I don’t know where else to turn for help.
Maybe someone will see this and have an idea. Thanks!
