It was suggested to me that the pitch automation bug can be made to go away with the following workaround. Switch the automation mode from it's default (Latch), to something else. I am using "Touch". I have been using PA for several hours now (over two days), and have now seen the issue return, whereas before it was usually a matter of minutes.
When done, I do Merge Audio to lock in the changes, then revert the automatrion mode back to it's default.
This is by far the best workaround yet.
