So does anyone understand what one gets for RX 8 in the subscription?

I've looked over the new features in RX 8 Advanced and definitely need them (though not necessarily instantly, as I may end up being in the middle of a move shortly), but can't justify the huge upgrade cost from RX 7 Advanced in a la carte mode.

For the subscription, they simply say "RX 8 for Music", whatever that means. So I gather the subscription model does NOT include everything, or at least not at the fully pro/advanced level.

I might consider the today-only $129(?) one-year subscription sale, if it truly gives me access to RX 8 Advanced features.

Otherwise, I suppose I'll wait for the final quarter of the year, when maybe there will be an upgrade to the Post Production Suite -- although usually they punish loyal customers with those suite pricings even though we already have everything in them.

"Others in the thread have already found that Ozone Pro isn't compatible with Ozone 9, so if you're collaborating with someone and sharing projects, they will also have to subscribe, even if they already own Ozone 9 outright."

I see nothing in their subscription model that interests me — perhaps I will but not right now. They have so many overlapping bundles, I have no idea how many licenses I have for anything.

I see an offer for Everything Bundle $199 upgrade from Post Production Suite 5 — but I already have Ozone 9A and RX 8A. There are a few reverbs in it that I can't imagine using.

Yeah, I've sold most of my EA reverbs and effects as I prefer LiquidSonics products at this point. I doubt I'll like iZotope's EA-derived reverb either.

I didn't do the upgrade of Post-Production Suite from v4 to v5 as I got so confused about the product overlap and how year after year they change the formula and negate any expected loyalty benefit one might have gained from the previous year's bundle or upgrade.

I'd dump all my iZotope products if I could, but specifically for RX, I just don't see alternatives, except maybe Acon. I have the Sonnox stuff and it's great but not as broad in coverage. When I still had TC Powercore, that came the closest in coverage overall.

I can pull down RX 8 Advanced upgrade to $360 during the Audio Deluxe June sale (10% off), but don't see the point as it was released on 2 September 2020 and so we are probably just about two months away from RX 9, unless they stop putting out upgraded versions of perpetual license products.

I saw that. What’s kind of scaring me is that this move to Apple Silicon is going to force users to upgrade plug-ins and I think some developers are going to try to leverage this to push users into subscriptions.
