Hi Wolf !
How did you manage it?
Which driver did you use? And where did you find it?
I use monterey 12.6 and UltraLite Mk3, I have installed driver 1.6 89555 and test only via USB, and it didn't see the Ultralite(I don't have bought the firewire adapter yet).

Can you help me?
Thanks in advance

Ha! I wish there was a quick answer.

You cannot daisy-chain MOTU bus powered interfaces, only with external power on #2 and further. If daisy-chaining MOTU interfaces, they recommend using an external clock if three or more to prevent drift. Otherwise there is more than one way how is explained in the manual. BTW, some Mac portables supply adequate bus power from only one port—yea, Apple still does this. Setting up more than one in Windows is not easy at all.

MOTU has used the UltraLite name for 6 different interfaces of three types. This is confusing, of course.

The UltraLite, UltraLite-mk3 and UltraLite-mk3 Hybrid take this driver from Big Sur forward. Since the UltraLite & UltraLite-mk3 are no longer supported, you have to look under UltraLite-mk3 Hybrid to find this driver. If you click on Additional Downloads, you'll find the ones for Catalina and backward.

Many of us are using unsupported FW devices with those two adapters, myself included with my 828mkII FW. If the unit is good; these work. All MOTU FireWire devices must use the correct MOTU Audio Installer and not either of the other two.

Hey, guys!

I'm using a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) with Mojave 10.14.6 using a MOTU Ultralite MK3 hybrid (driver 1.6 83634 and firmware 1.07).
I'm having problems like glitches and sound interruption with a really high frequency noise that stops after some time. This problem happens all time without a pattern between the interruptions.

I sent the audio interface to the authorised assistance and there was not hardware problem detected.

Should I upgrade my OS from Mojave to Catalina or any other?
Would this work?

Thank you so much!

Right I've managed to give this a go at last but unfortunately only one ultralite shows up I'm using the suggested driver and adapters

Is there a certain way u need to start them up like turn interfaces on then the mac or vice versa

If I turn the one on that's connected to the mac first it shows up but then if I turn the second one on I get a beachball and I have to turn off the mac and restart

Any help would be great

Thanks

Ps I'm using a ultralite mk3 Fw and a original ultralite also tried with a 828 mk2 with same out come

I wi try on bootcamp and see how that goes also

They both use the same driver so that is installed only once.

Do they both show up in Audio MIDI Setup.app? If so, then you need to make an Aggregate Device. Apple and MOTU have instructions for doing so.
