Yup.

With SCSI and MIDI, that thing would've been a dream for me as an upgrade from the STe with my little-ass 9" monochrome monitor.

Instead I went Apple and brought the wrath of 20 years worth of BS upon myself. If I could do it all over again...

I stayed with the Atari as long as I could. Once OMS went belly up (thanks, Gibson) the end was neigh and the search for a decent DAW was on. Studio Vision Pro filled that space until a student brought a bootlegged copy of DP over to try. I immediately hated and bought it and paid for all the upgrades for about 18 months before actual using it. i could see the potential and supported the company efforts. Now i'm glad I did.

:unicorn:

Also, can I just say that Dt. T SUCKED! especially on a dot matrix printer.

Good on ya man.

I saw DP at the Melbourne Music Show around 1996-7 and figured I ought to at least aim for it. Bought a G3 with OS9 in 1999, taking out my biggest loan ever, my last-possible one.

Unfortunately I blew the loan on RAM and 3 new Macs before the store caved 2 years later and allowed me to try its own PCI-324 card, and suddenly I could hit the record button without the Mac freezing, but by then it was too-late. The remaining loan money was meant for guitars and other critical gear and I therefore embarked upon this journey, that I still haven't completed, of getting the right gear to the point that I can complete my projects and do them justice. Being ripped-off and obsolescence have combined to thwart my progress to a ridiculous degree, hence the fact that I still have nothing to show music-wise since the ATARI days. Ridiculous!

I reinstalled MacOS 39 times through that period of buying $2000 worth of RAM and 3 new Macs. If I'd known about and been a member here I'm sure the story would've been a whole lot different.

Funny, in all these years, I've never actually told this little story. Hopefully it explains a lot.
