Accessing Mach5’s Separate Audio Outputs

Post by lampfilmusic »

I have set up Mach5’s instrument outputs in DP's Bundles>Instruments.

I would like to have a Mach5 Part send its mono audio output to a MOTU 2408mk3 channel 7. I have set up that Mach5 Part to output its audio to Mach3 ‘Out 2’. I understand that this corresponds to Mach5 Instrument outputs 3&4. :(

How in DP can I grab Mach5 instrument outputs 3&4 and send one of them to MOTU 2408mk3 channel 7?

Thank you.

Method 1 (more-efficient in the long term if you enable and label all M5's mono outs as well)
Create a mono aux track and set its input to M5 output 3 (in the Bundles window, you'll see an option to specify each stereo pair from M5's odd and even-numbered channels as individual mono ones). Now set the aux track's output to 2408mk3 7. Done.

Method 2 (less-efficient in the long term)
Create a stereo aux track and set its inputs to M5 outputs 3-4, and its outputs to 2408mk3 7-8; that'll take M5's stereo 3-4 out to the interface's 7-8 out. Pan the aux track's output hard-left so everything goes to interface output 7.

Note:
I haven't seen the Bundles window in 6 years or M5's Bundles in 8 or so (guesstimating), so this advice is from-memory, which I can only hope is serving me well.

If you're using MF as a VI in DP, you'd do the sending from DP.

Have a DP audio or aux channel input MF's output 7-8. And from DP send it to your interface's desired channel. For this, you must have the DP Audio Bundles ready, which looks like you already have.

If you're using it in stand alone mode, I suppose the outputs to your interface would be published in MF.

In MF, the main output (1-2) can be used only for its FX returns, and 2 to 17 would be equivalent to 1 to 16.

Are you getting any signal at all in DP from MF, or only not in the channel you want?

You're too-kind, 'Nandito.

Yours provided additional interesting factoids, so taken as a whole, our answer is more than the sum of its parts. :headbang:
