Conductor Mode causes tempo hike

Post by Kev »

I'm trying to adjust the barlines in a project so that they line up with the existing drum track. The tempo is approximately 67bpm but fluctuates between 66 and 70. Apparently it needs to in Conductor Track Mode before adjustments can be made. I have the project tempo set to 67bpm but when I switch to Conductor Track Mode it automatically jumps to 120bpm. That's not helpful. How can I get past this?

I watched a video demonstrating the technique and it looked easy enough, but the guy was working with a song whose tempo was around 120bpm anyway, so it worked for him.

Insert a tempo event at the beginning of the conductor track.

Locking your audio tracks (with the little lock in the track window) will make a world of difference before you try to get your music on the grid. If things get really messed up you can move soundbites to their original timestamps or better yet (my favorite), completely ignore the grid.

Thanks guys.

Back to the manual. I need to read up on the Conductor Track.

Does the lock fix the audio to real time rather than to the grid?

Exactly (and MIDI as well).
