Stretching vocal samples.

I am thinking of getting some oooh and aaah vocal samples for use as backing vocals in a pop song from here :

https://www.loopmasters.com/genres/57-V ... ions-Vol-1

Thus far I only ever used my MachFive3 to play back the instruments it came with, but I understand it can time stretch samples ? So could I use to extend their lengths as required by the arrangement, which calls for long sustained oooh and aaah ?

It depends if you want to loop or stretch. Stretching will change the quality of the sound so that it will not necessarily sound like 'vocals' any more. If M5 can timestretch then read the manual for how to do this. If it can't you could use Audacity to time stretch.

M53 uses an older version of the IRCAM TS and it's pretty good. It will do what you want but...

If that's all you want to do, DP 10 is better/faster/easier to use. I do this every week with real voices.

Some bought IRCAM TS stand alone to use that capability outside of MachFive. For those of us who did, TS 2 has just been released and it's a free upgrade. On sale for $29 for those who don't have TS.
