Hi Everyone,
For the past 3-4 days I've been going crazy figuring out why DP 9.52 only records blank audio files...no info on the file, just straight silent lines.
I tried all possible combinations with MIDI, analog audio with different mics, etc. It just does not record any new audio information.
Funny thing, it bounces ok!
So if I have an existing audio file or a MIDI file, they behave normally. It's just when I want to record new audio files, it just records NOTHING, total silence.
I trashed the preferences, disinstalled and reinstalled DP, even ran the diagnostics on RAM and checked the singular memory banks.
Nothing seems to solve this problem...;(
Any idea please?
Thanx,
Enrico

Re: Recording blank audio files?!?
It would help if you give us details as to exqctly how you're trying to record your signals. From your post, all I can tell is that you're obviously not routing the signals properly. Your outs are not reaching the ins.il picaro wrote:Hi Everyone,

Do your audio bundles reflect your hardware and VI i/o?
How are you routing your MIDI VIs to the audio tracks?
The reason I think your bouncing comes out fine is because DP must be bouncing the unrendered MIDI stuff and you were just lucky.
I really don't think this is a DP installation issue. Check your signal routing.

Re: Recording blank audio files?!?
I have recorded some 10 songs lately, even a 9-minute orchestral composition, without the slightest problem, and haven't changed any of my routing since I recorded last week.
Signal routing is the ABC and obviously I checked that multiple times. I've been using DP since version 3.

What appears on the audio input on the track input level meters? Are you visually verifying there is audio and that it is actually getting to the armed track?

Re: Recording blank audio files?!?
Ok my dear friends,
So I applied the "take no prisoners" approach to the problem, formatted the whole freaking PC, re-installed everything and guess what...
Audio runs flawlessly and better than before. Signals are nice and clear.
BUT
Now MAchfive is not showing among the Instruments in the Bundles window... ;(
I think I must have done something very wrong to a music software programmer in some other life.
Machfive 3 (latest upgrade) runs flawlessly as a stand-alone program, all the MIDI and Audio settings are properly routed, and I can select sounds and play them back with my keyboard.
But it won't show in DP for some reason. It's even showing as a enabled plug-in in the preferences, but not in the Instruments.
Any clue?
Thanx as usual,
Enrico
